Well-known gaming and sports betting software will take part in this week’s iGaming Forum 2018 in Stockholm, Sweden, BetConstruct is set to attend the industry’s leading event for gaming developers this April 18.
This year’s forum taps into the progress of Swedish parliament in the first half of 2018 votes on re-regulating its gaming market, including the consequences and other effects of the law. This is because of the current situation in the prevailing duopoly of Svenska Spel and ATG in the Swedish market where the two companies and the structure itself are being criticized by private operators with European licenses.
The Gambling Act follows the UK model of legislative reforms and licensing system for sports betting, online casino, online bingo, and online slots licenses. If successful, it will put into motion on January 1, 2019. Around 40% of Swedish’s gambling revenue is comprised of online betting, therefore, the re-regulation of the Swedish gaming market would serve as a token for liberalizing the betting market and promoting neutral competitions.
