Despite the pandemic, Pragmatic Play saw an increase in revenue last 2020. The online casino provider emerged as one of the leading names in 2021 after releasing multiple traditional casino and Bitcoin casino games. As such, the company made a massive contribution worth €30,000 to three key NGOs in Malta to give back to the island’s gambling community.
Lena Yasir, VP of Malta at Pragmatic Play, announced the distribution of contributions yesterday. In a press release, Yasir showed the company’s support to Malta’s iGaming community:
“The organizations we have chosen to donate these sums to are worthy recipients, all of which contribute immeasurably and we’re very pleased to be in a position to help them in an even greater period of need. Pragmatic Play is a proud member of Malta’s iGaming community and looks forward to supporting these causes as they look to assist the nation during these difficult times.”
The pandemic has impacted all businesses and individuals on the island, so Pragmatic Play chose the most significant organizations that can help these affected sectors. The company took the initiation to contribute €10,000 each to the following:
- St. Jeanne Antide Foundation – a family and community-focused NGO located in Hal Tarxien, Malta.
- Malta Hospice Movement – an NGO that provides Palliative Care to individuals and families.
- Good Shepherd Sisters – a regional NGO that provides refuge to battered wives and children.
All of these selected charitable corporations will provide support for the most in need in the Maltese community. Pragmatic Play specifically expects them to focus on family support, palliative care, and domestic violence victims.
Pragmatic Play chose Malta as its main beneficiary since the company has a large presence on the island. Their key hub office is located in Sliema, Malta. The strategic location allowed them to employ a strong team in the country and host a solid presence in the Mediterranean nation.
Aside from providing contributions, Pragmatic Play busies itself with strengthening partnerships and releasing new titles. The company recently entered the Croatian gambling market with Admiral Casino, part of the acclaimed Novomatic Group. For January, operators and players can expect three to five new slot titles and fresh live casino and bingo products from the provider.
