SkillOnNet, one of the biggest providers of casino software solutions in the world, has partnered with data science company Neccton to come up with a safe-gambling tool called “Mentor”. The tool aims to protect online casino operators and bettors from cyber-harm and gambling-related problems.
Andy Andrew, head of compliance at SkillOnNet, announced the company’s plans to “take player experience to the next level” earlier this year. And it seems like inventing a safer gambling tool is part of the plan. Neccton, meanwhile, has been investing in research and development for the last 10 years. The company has published several studies related to responsible gambling and ethical player tracking.
Andrew led the announcement of Mentor and SkillOnNet’s partnership with Neccton. In a press release, he said: “We are thrilled to have joined forces with Neccton, bringing its state-of-the-art machine learning Safer Gambling tool to our in-house online casino brands and those of our white-label partners. Safer Gambling is one of the most important aspects of operating online casino markets and although already very advanced in this area using in-house tools, we are proud to be among the first to adopt and launch innovative technologies.”
About Mentor
Neccton will spearhead the actual creation of Mentor, while SkillOnNet manages its distribution to fiat and Bitcoin casinos. Neccton collaborated with behavioral scientists and psychologists to create Mentor and determine the main factors that can lead to gambling addiction and other issues.
The final version of Mentor should be able to track player data, detect gambling patterns, and identify red flags or changes in behavior. If Mentor deems that a player is at risk, online casino operators with Mentor should give them feedback and customized modes of communication to prevent them from harm. The correspondence at-risk players will receive is equipped with “motivational interviewing”, a counseling technique and psychotherapeutic approach discovered by clinical psychologists to help individuals shatter their indecision or uncertainty bubble and make positive decisions.
SkillOnNet will release Mentor on its main brands, including PlayOJO, AHTI Games, Slingo, Lucky Vegas, Royal Bet, and SlotsMagic. It’s still unknown whether or not the company will release Mentor to other third-party casinos and platforms.
